Oculus has announced that the open-world hit is now available on Samsung's virtual reality headset. Officially dubbed Minecraft: Gear VR Edition, the game is said to support the same features as the Pocket Edition, including its creative, survival and multiplayer modes, as well as the character skins your familiar with.

In addition to that, Minecraft: Gear VR Edition will let you pick between a first-person or theater view (which is the default), depending on how hardcore you feel when you're about to start building and exploring in virtual reality. Oculus CTO John Carmack, who last year revealed that this version was in the works, said in a blog post, "My strongest memories of being inside VR are from the time I've spent exploring Minecraft on Gear VR. Experiencing it in virtual reality changes it from an abstract activity to a visceral one."

If you have a Gear VR, Minecraft can be yours from the Oculus Store for $7.

Oculus Rift Touch is expected to launch in the second half of 2016

Oculus announced on its website that the Touch handheld controller accessories to its highly-anticipated Rift VR headset will be delayed to the second half of 2016. Pre-orders for the controllers will similarly be delayed. Oculus cites the need to "improve hand pose recognition" as the reason for the setback. The Rift headset itself is still on track for its Q1 release and its pre-order system will come online in the coming weeks. The company is reportedly also ramping up production of its developer units to meet growing demand.

Oculus' Henry the Hedgehog will make you want to hug him, but you can't

Oculus is making a play for your emotions. Henry the Hedgehog is the star of Oculus' second short film, which draws you straight into his endearing little world — a place you may not want to leave.
Rather than just be entertained, Oculus also wants you to care about Henry. The sweet little hedgehog really wants to hug people, but his spikes keep him from really connecting with them physically. How can you not love that, right?
It's all very familiar; Disney and Pixar brought empathy to slick computer animation with films like Toy Story. Oculus is taking it a step further with Henry. Instead of letting you watch what goes on in his life, Oculus will let you literally step inside of it.
It's not just meandering around his little house, though. You'll also be able to interact with Henry. Producer Edward Saatchi says “Henry now performs as if he's real. You question yourself: 'is Henry doing that because I'm here?'” It's a question you'll never really know, because unlike a simple film, you don't get to know what happens when you're not supposed to be there.
A benefit of Oculus' platform is that Henry is free to violate the fourth wall. He can look directly at you and spark emotion. You're no longer an onlooker — you're part of Henry's world. VR headset or not, it's hard not to get sucked in.
