LG Unveils Rolly Keyboard, A Bluetooth Rollable Keyboard

IFA in Berlin is right around the corner, the show will commence at the very beginning of next month, and by the looks of it, we're going to see lots of goodies being showcased by various companies. LG is one of the companies which will be at the show, and they'll show off their recently announced G Pad II tablet, and quite probably their existing line of products, including the LG G4 flagship. That being said, LG has just announced that another new device will be officially unveiled at IFA, and the company has shared its details with us today, read on.

This time around we're not talking about a separate device, but about an accessory to LG's existing products. The company has just showcased the first solid rollable wireless portable keyboard called LG Rolly Keyboard (KBB-700). This keyboard actually folds up along the four rows, and basically creates a stick that you can fit into your briefcase, pocket or wherever you want. You'll get a much better idea of what we're talking about here if you take a look at the images in a gallery down below. The LG Rolly Keyboard has a 17mm key pitch, which is close to the 18mm key pitch you can find on most desktop units. The keyboard is made out of impact-resistant polycarbonate and ABS plastic, in case you were wondering. It is also worth mentioning that this is a Bluetooth 3.0 keyboard, and it is powered by an AAA battery, which should be able to power this thing up to three months (average use) according to the company.

“LG Rolly Keyboard is just one of the many premium input devices we'll be unveiling in the coming months as we expand our accessories offerings. The goal was to create a product that could add more value to LG smartphones and tablets at the same time offering a unique design proposition that hadn't been explored before,” said Seo Young-jae, Vice President in charge of Innovative Personal Devices at LG Electronics. LG will release the full details regarding this keyboard at IFA 2015, but the company did mention that they'll roll out this keyboard in the US in September, and Europe, Latin America and Asia will follow in Q4. The pricing will be announced once they keyboard arrives in select markets, and the US price will quite probably be revealed at IFA.
