It’s that time. CES is right around the corner, and we’re starting to see companies announce their press conferences in Las Vegas for CES. Huawei is the latest one to announce their press conference, set for January 5th, 2016 at 10am PST. As usual, this is before the show officially starts, and Huawei will have a booth on the show floor, as they always do. Now Huawei hasn’t teased anything for this event in January. But we do know they have some big things coming pretty soon. They have an event next week to announce a new device with the Kirin 950 chipset, and we might see another debut at CES in January.
Typically, Huawei has announced the Ascend Mate, Ascend Mate 2 and the Honor 6 & Honor 6 Plus coming at this past year’s CES in Las Vegas. So there’s really no telling what Huawei might announce, but this is from their Huawei Consumer BG, which means we’re looking at smartphones, tablets and/or wearables. It might be time to see another tablet from Huawei, as it’s been a while since we’ve seen one. Especially for the US.
Huawei has had a great 2015 so far. Starting with the Honor 6 and Honor 6 Plus announced at CES, and continuing through the P8/P8 Lite launch, the Mate S launch at IFA and now the Nexus 6P with Google. The Nexus 6P has been getting rave reviews, with so many people saying that it’s the best Android phone ever. That’s about the best praise a company could ever get. And that doesn’t include the fact that Huawei is now the number one manufacturer in China again. Now what could Huawei have planned for 2016? Who knows, but we’ll see the beginning of it at CES in Las Vegas in January, which we will be there for, as always. You can pretty much bet that whatever device Huawei announces in January will be running on their newly announced Kirin 950. Which is an absolute beast, according to benchmarks. Considering a smartphone actually running the processor hasn’t actually been made available just yet. It will be next week.
Lots to speculate in regards to this Huawei event, but we are definitely interested in seeing what the company has planned for 2016.
